Designation Ceremony 7:00 PM
Roxy Theater Colman A.B
Crowsnest Cultural and Recreational Society (Cando) on behalf of the community Crowsnest Pass is to be honored by the Province of Alberta for the designation of the Roxy Theater as a provincial historical resource. This iconic building in downtown Coleman will serve as a multi-use performing arts center upon the completion of the restoration in 2024/25. The performance center will provide our region with a spectacular performance hub in the heart of Coleman for future generations. This historic building is being recognized for its character defining architecture and is identified as one of the few Quonset Theaters left in Canada today.
The Designation Ceremony and Open House
It is with great pleasure that we will be receiving Roger Reid MLA and his worship Blair Painter, Mayor of the Crowsnest Pass to preside over this auspicious occasion. Roger Reid on behalf of the Alberta Government will represent the Honourable Ron Orr, the Minister of Culture and the Status of Women. The commemoration ceremony is a chance for the community to show support for the Roxy Theater Project.
The Designation ceremony will start promptly at 7:00pm September 8 in front of the Roxy Theater and will last about thirty to forty-five minutes.
